Hi, I’m Omar and I would like to share with you the emotion of experiencing the birth of a new day at altitude is a unique spectacle, which undoubtedly repays the sacrifice of waking up early! We will ascend from Sauris di Sopra towards Sella di Festons, while the glow of the new day will colour Bivera and Clap Savon with the warm tones of dawn. At Sella Festons the first rays of the sun will warm our hearts as we enjoy a delicious breakfast in the warmth of the Rifugio Festons, before returning to the village enriched with emotions that are hard to describe.

Breakfast is prepared by Rocco and Viola, the managers of Rifugio Festons. They welcome us into the completely renovated house, to be seated next to the stube with the fire burning. Breakfast consists of coffee with cow’s milk, a bowl of scrambled egg accompanied by a savoury cheese sauce and smoked ricotta cheese, all garnished with trout eggs. It continues with a charcuterie board with malga cheese and fresh ricotta to be accompanied by honey and tala in oil, with plenty of cereal bread. To finish, Mrs Antonella’s cake accompanied by freshly whipped cream cannot be missed, a breakfast of champions after the dawn frost, which will give us the charge to face the descent to the village!
