Hotel-restaurant located in the center of the village of Sauris di Sotto, the Hotel Morgenleit offers a spectacular view from every room, some of which boast a balcony. The structure is a short distance from the ski slope, also visible from the windows of our bar.
Our rooms, furnished in wood, are equipped with a flat-screen TV and mini fridge, with a private bathroom complete with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Furthermore, smoking is prohibited in all rooms.
A delicious continental breakfast is served every morning at the Morgenleit.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept pets in the hotel.
We offer a discounted policy for children: children up to 4 years old stay for free, while those aged 5 to 12 years old enjoy a 30% discount.

Immersed in the picturesque scenery of the Carnic Dolomites, the family-run Albergo Riglarhaus offers a traditional restaurant, a wellness center and Alpine-style rooms with LCD TV, private bathroom and balcony overlooking the surrounding forests.
A breakfast of homemade cakes, cold cuts and eggs is served at the Riglarhaus. The restaurant offers regional cuisine, such as Sauris dumplings with ham and Kümmel.

Pa Krhaizar is an ancient stone house, a typical Sauris house, warm, welcoming, quiet and with a discreet and private atmosphere. It was expertly restored at the end of the 80s, furnished with antique furniture from the local culture, and still retains the scent of old wood.
Pa Krhaizar, a particular name, right? I admit, it’s not easy, but we chose to keep it because it’s authentic; comes from the nickname of one of the owners of this residence, Krhaizarle. He was a good-natured guy, who loved good wine and partying, and very often here we danced and played the accordion and violin. A happy story of these walls that I didn’t want to forget!

The Meublè Schneider continues the tradition of the ancient Locanda alla Pace built way back in 1804.

Holiday home in the magical atmosphere of the village of Sauris di Sopra.
A house and 4 accommodations that tell the alchemy of hospitality.
Identical in the layout of the spaces and availability, but different in the “spirit”.
We created them by respectfully renovating an ancient family house from the end of the 19th century, belonging to grandfather Giuseppe, known as “Sefn” in Saurian dialect.

ZEA – THE SMOKED TROUT OF SAURIS
ZEA, the Smoked Sauris Trout, is born and grows in the resurgence area of the Friulian plain: it is cultivated and fed by hand in Borgo Siega, in the trout farming plant of the Sigalotti Fish Farm, powered by the Roggia Versa.
Here fresh, pure, oxygenated waters give ZEA peculiar organoleptic and nutritional properties, which give its meats a refined quality.
ZEA is smoked in the La Maina laboratory, on the outskirts of Sauris, the highest and most isolated municipality in Friuli, where the purity of the air gives the clearest starry sky in Italy.

PA’ MAIRLAN
For some years, in Pa’Mairlan, we have restarted this ancient practice. In our garden – known as gorte in the Saurian language – you can find the same varieties of plants and flowers that thrive at over 1400 meters above sea level, thanks to the fertility of the soil and the uncontaminated air of Sauris.
We manually collect flowers and plants, dry them on wooden frames and transform them into natural cosmetics in our specialized laboratories. With our line of herbal teas and creams “Estratto di Natura” – pflegngreiser – we aim to further promote the well-being of those who choose to visit Sauris.
Our creams have been designed with the needs of our guests in mind; the Arnica cream is ideal after an excursion in our mountains, the Calendula cream soothes sunburn, while the Mint and Thyme cream gives relief to tired feet.

In the Saurian language, Beibar means weaver, while Haus indicates the house.
Our artisan workshop, located in the picturesque village of Sauris di Sotto, is housed in an ancient sawmill built with stone walls and wooden beams.
Our textile products, intended to enrich domestic environments and clothing, are made exclusively with natural fibres: wool, linen, hemp and cotton.
In our production, we keep artisan traditions alive, creating carpets, tapestries, mats, centerpieces, table strips, scarves, shawls, capes and blankets. Each piece is unique and original, characterized by the naturalness of the designs, sometimes inspired by the inlays of ancient chests, and by the care in researching chromatic effects.

ZAHRE CHOIR
“Ben bist khemen mit mier… if you want to come with me”: these are the words of a joyful song in the Saurian language that have accompanied the local choir in their group experience through music since the distant Christmas of 1975.
This journey, rooted in a traditional musical heritage in the Saurian language has been passed down through time and expanded over the years to include both folkloric and sacred music in Friulian, Italian, and international languages, while also keeping alive the repertoire in Germanophone language, for revitalizing and increasing traditional songs.
The interest shown by various associations, enthusiasts of minorities and communities abroad has allowed the Zahre Choir, deliberately baptized as such to emphasize love for their origins, to present itself both in Italy and abroad, transmitting its musical and cultural heritage.
SAURIS SKI CLUB
Established in 1977 as an amateur sport association, the Sauris Ski Club engages in activities related to winter sports disciplines by organizing skiing courses ranging from beginner to competitive activities. It also handles the organization of skiing events, both amateur and those associated with official circuits.
The club’s sporting goals, combined with a strong sense of camaraderie, make it a lively and participatory hub of activities, especially for younger generations.

Like other respectable mountain towns, Sauris also boasts of its own Alpine group. Young and old, official members and sympathizers alike, are animated by the spirit that distinguishes these “black feathers”. They are active in the Saurian community, collaborating with other associations and providing constant support and availability in social matters.
SAURIS ANGLERS’ ASSOCIATION
The practice of sport fishing has always fascinated every generation, and with a lake like ours, it’s no different. The Sauris Anglers’ Association is committed to promoting fishing activities that take place in the Lumiei basin and its neighboring streams, with particular attention to environmental respect and protection of land.
ZAHRAR KULTURZIRKUL – SAURAN CULTURAL CIRCLE “FULGENZIO SCHNEIDER”
The Sauran Cultural Circle – Zahrar Kulturzirkul “Fulgenzio Schneider” was founded in 1976 with the purpose of preserving and promoting the language and cultural heritage of Sauris/Zahre. It has produced numerous publications for both adults and children and collaborated on various projects with the Municipal Administration and the primary school of Sauris. Every year, it publishes a calendar with photos and texts in Sauran and Italian on topics of local interest. For some years now, it has organized a woodcarving course for masks during the carnival period.
In 2002, together with other German-speaking communities, it founded the “Unitary Committee of the Historical Germanic Language Islands in Italy”. In 2003 and 2016, the annual assembly of the Committee was held in Sauris/Zahre.

PRO LOCO SAURIS ZAHRE
Since November 2015, Pro Loco Sauris Zahre has brought together a group of young volunteers devoted to the enhancement and development of the community, collaborating with other Sauris associations in organizing numerous cultural events as well as gastronomic and territorial promotion (Sauris in Festa – Festa del Prosciutto, Festa del Formaggio Salato e di Malga, Christmas market, Il Carnevale Saurano – Der Zahrar Voschankh, Arte nel Borgo). Moreover, it dedicates itself to managing social gatherings, such as organizing various courses for people of all ages (English language, Sauran language course, digital course for tackling new technologies, etc.).
