Nestled in the natural beauty of the Carnic Alps, Sauris is one of those small mountain villages that has preserved ancient and authentic traditions. Its three hamlets (Sauris di Sotto, Sauris di Sopra and Lateis) and the villages of Velt and La Maina – which welcomes you with its marvelous lake – are situated between 1000 and 1400 meters above sea level making it the highest municipality in Friuli Venezia Giulia! A jewel tucked in among the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, it’s to be discovered in every season in order to experience the mountains of Friuli Venezia Giulia in a unique and unexpected way.
